Hospitality uniforms work hard and are seen by every guest

In a hotel, restaurant, café or bar, the uniform is part of the service. Guests notice whether the team looks coordinated, clean and comfortable, and they form a view of the whole business from it. Behind the scenes, those same garments are washed often, stained regularly and worn through long shifts.

We make and supply garments for hospitality businesses that need a uniform to look right on day one and still look right after months of laundering. This page covers the practical choices: fabrics, fit, colours, aprons, branding and reordering, and how to plan a programme that suits a real kitchen or front of house.

Roles in a hospitality team and what each needs

A hospitality uniform is rarely one garment. Each role works differently, and the clothing should reflect that.

  • Front of house shirts, blouses, waistcoats and trousers that stay neat through a long service.
  • Kitchen breathable tops and trousers that tolerate heat, splashes and frequent washing.
  • Bar and café aprons, polos and t-shirts that move easily.
  • Housekeeping comfortable, easy-care garments with room to bend and reach.
  • Management smarter pieces that stay consistent with the brand.

We help you build a small, coherent range rather than a long list of one-off items.

Fabrics that survive the laundry

Hospitality garments are laundered more often than almost any other kind of clothing, frequently at high temperature. The fabric has to hold colour, resist shrinkage and keep its shape.

Cotton-polyester blends are a common choice because they combine comfort with durability and easy care. Pure cotton feels natural but may shrink or fade faster unless it is pre-treated. Stretch fabrics help where staff move constantly. We recommend a fabric for each role and can arrange a wash test on a sample, so you see the result before ordering.

Colour and brand consistency

A restaurant with three different blacks in one team looks careless. Dark colours are especially vulnerable to fading, and white shows every mark. Colour needs a clear reference at the start, a note of the dye lot and a plan for how reorders are matched.

We agree your colours against a swatch or reference and record the lot used. When you reorder, we work to the same approved sample. Where small variation between lots is normal, we tell you in advance, so you can plan new joiners and replacements.

Aprons, accessories and the details that guests notice

Aprons, waist aprons, caps, scarves and ties finish the look, and they are often the most visible branded item. Pockets, loops and length matter in practice: a bar apron that is too short or a pocket that gapes becomes a daily irritation.

We make aprons and accessories to your specification, including pocket layout, strap type and fabric weight, and we apply your logo by embroidery, print or label. If you operate several venues, we can keep one master specification so that every site matches.

Branding that stays sharp through washing

Hospitality logos have to survive hot washes and heavy rubbing. The method depends on the fabric and the artwork.

  1. 01

Embroidery for polos, shirts and aprons where a smart, durable finish matters.

  2. 02

Screen print for simple artwork in larger quantities.

  3. 03

DTF or heat transfer for detailed or multi-colour logos on smaller runs.

  4. 04

Woven labels for a branded neck and clear care information.

We show you a sample on the real fabric before bulk, so you can check how the logo holds.

Planning for seasonality, new openings and turnover

Hospitality has seasonal peaks, new venues and constant staff turnover. A good programme allows for all three. We keep your size breakdown and approved sample, so a top-up for a summer team or a new opening follows the same specification.

For urgent or small needs, our ready stock in Germany offers plain garments from 1 piece that you can decorate yourself or have decorated. That works well for plain aprons, t-shirts and polos when a team grows faster than planned.

What hospitality buyers often underestimate about uniforms

Care is often underestimated. Hospitality clothing is washed after every shift, often in industrial laundries, and stains such as grease, wine and coffee should be removable. Fabric, colour and finishing must withstand that, and dark colours should not fade. A second point is freedom of movement: staff who walk, carry and bend all day need cuts that do not restrict and fabrics that breathe. Third, pockets and details matter, such as space for a notepad, pen or corkscrew.

For hotels, representation and consistency across departments add to the list. We help define fabric, cut and branding, and we show washed samples. For reorders, we keep the specification and colour reference on file, so that new staff look the same as the existing team.

Start with a roles list and a sample

Send us the roles, the number of people per role, your colours and any branding. We will reply in writing with a suggested range and fabric options, and arrange a sample so you can test comfort and washing before a bulk decision. A written quote costs nothing and shows you exactly what you would receive.
